I enjoy meeting and visiting with our patients. It’s fulfilling to build real connections while helping people feel comfortable in what can be a stressful environment. A smile and thanks for making a visit pleasant makes my day!
I am excited to be part of Minden Family Dental. We are a state-of-the-art office, in a small town, that provides excellent dental care. We are a Christian family with good moral fiber, caring about each other and each patient’s well-being.
As a dental assistant, I set up the operatory and sterilize instruments for the procedure, then seat our patient and prepare him or her for Dr. Goodman or Dr. McConnell. Working chairside, I assist Dr. Goodman and Dr. McConnell while supporting the patient, and when we’re finished, I provide home care instructions. I also take X-rays and impressions, make nightguards and fluoride trays, and oversee inventory.
My passion, outside of healthy smiles, is gardening. I also enjoy camping and traveling, time with Bob, my husband of more than 30 years, and our adult daughter, McKenzie. I’m a member of “Crochet Unto Others,” a group that creates and donates hats, gloves, and scarves to the Hub Urban Ministries in Shreveport. I’m also an active member of the Haynesville United Methodist Church, where I sing in the choir and belong to the Marge Moler circle.
I like interacting with our patients and my coworkers. Many people think of dental offices as being cold and staid; here, we’re warm and friendly, and always surrounded by laughter and smiles!
At Minden Family Dental, everyone works hard and loves to laugh. That creates a wonderful atmosphere for our patients and helps people understand that ours is a compassionate, trustworthy practice where they can feel safe in our care.
I handle the bookkeeping end of the business, as well as insurance. It is important for patients to be able to maximize their benefits, so I interact with the insurance companies on our patients’ behalf.
When I’m not working, I’m usually with my husband Chris and three children: Ashley, Tessa, and Trace. I treasure time with my sisters and nieces and nephews, and enjoy teaching religion school on Wednesday nights.
I enjoy being of service to our patients as a part of the family at Minden Family Dental. It’s a pleasure to help improve smiles and overall dental health, and educate people about ways they can take control of their smile. I am glad we serve such a wonderful group of people and look forward to visits as a time to talk and laugh. The best part is seeing patients smile who haven’t felt confident to smile in years!
I assist Dr. Goodman an Dr. McConnell during patient treatment. I also do dental lab work and take X-rays, as well as all other dental assistant duties.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my daughter Carla, son-in-law Jonathon, and granddaughter Winnie. I also like walking, jogging, sewing, and being active in the First Baptist Church.
I enjoy helping people improve their oral health and develop the smile they want. I treat and care for my patients like they’re family. They are why I love coming to work every day. I am happy to help people I care about develop a healthy mouth and smile they love.
I provide patients with cleanings, education on ways to improve and maintain oral health, treatment of periodontal disease, and other preventive dental care.
My husband Van and I have been married for ten years. We have a son, Tanner Slaid, and a daughter, Landry Sage. When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with family, watching my son play sports, and reading.
I have been a dental hygienist at Minden Family Dental for a long time — more than 30 years! During that time, I’ve met so many people and developed so many wonderful relationships. Everyone has stories to share, and I feel honored when a patient tells me about their life.
I examine patients’ mouths for oral disease and clean their teeth. A lot of my time is devoted to patient education: teaching people the best way to keep their mouth healthy and smile beautiful.
My husband Bob and I have been married for more than 40 years and have been blessed with three kids and four awesome grandkids. I love to work in the yard, read, sew, tend to chickens, and attend First Baptist Church.
I love our patients. Building long-term relationships with them and seeing each develop and keep a healthy mouth and smile is always rewarding. My goal is to make sure our patients and families feel comfortable at our office.
I schedule appointments and coordinate our patients’ insurance benefits. Most importantly, I make sure everything runs smoothly so our team can focus on what’s important: our patients!
I have a B. S. in Criminal Justice and am a ARHPC certified coder. Outside of work, I enjoy reading and spending time with my family. My husband Linton and I have two daughters, Nicole and Madison, and too many fur babies to list!
